“I wanted to write to personally thank you and all of your colleagues at London Hotel Group for your work supporting people brought in during the ‘Everyone In’ initiative.

By hosting a GLA-procured hotel you were part of a world-leading programme to ensure that rough sleepers at risk of COVID-19 were safely accommodated during the pandemic. Around 10,000 people were provided with emergency accommodation and support across London during that time, including over 2,600 in GLA-procured hotels. As well as saving many lives, the use of hotels like yours provided my services with a unique opportunity to support people to exit homelessness. There is no doubt this intervention had a positive impact on the lives of many of London’s most vulnerable.

You and your team showed great dedication and a fantastic commitment to partnership working with my Rough Sleeping team while facing an unprecedented challenge in the COVID-19 pandemic. At least 156 people who had been sleeping rough passed through your doors and then went on to other forms of accommodation. None of this could have happened without the support of you and your colleagues.”

“I wanted to write and pass on my sincerest thanks to you, Umair, Florentina and the rest of the team at the Ibis Styles for the professionalism, kindness and compassion they demonstrated daily.

In the time we were placing people in the hotel between November 2020 and when the service ended at the end of March 2022, we managed to accommodate nearly 300 people that would otherwise have had nowhere to go. The vast majority of these were then found secure, long-term accommodation.

The team at the hotel have been amazing and have made the difference in being able to deal with many of the challenges thrown up by accommodating so many people experiencing homelessness in one building and stand in stark contrast to some of the other hotels that we have accommodated people in.

“I would like to compliment The London Hotel Group for their co-operation in this year’s 2020 Crisis Christmas Project. They provided us with 2 hotels, Best Western Crystal Palace (200 beds) and Best Western Croydon (100 beds) and staff of a very high standard.

The quality of the food, accommodation and above all the staff were of the highest quality. I was particularly impressed with the attitude of their staff towards our guests and their predicament. They were always on hand to help in any way they could.

We don’t know what the future looks like but we would definitely want to work with the group again if the situation necessitates it.”
